The Champion Power Equipment 100379 22-Inch Front Tine Tiller combines power and performance perfectly, taking you from barren ground to a great garden in no time. Once you prepare your garden with our efficient tiller, you’ll wonder how you ever prepped your soil without it.

The 212cc engine powers the four 13.8-inch heavy-duty hardened steel tines as they transform tough ground into perfectly prepared garden soil.

The variable 16 to 22-inch tilling width and up to 8-inch tilling depth make this capable tiller the perfect match for a gardener who wants to go from tilling to planting as quickly as possible. Champion’s dual rotation makes it easy to till any type of soil. In addition, the extra width means fewer passes are needed to prepare your soil so you can quickly move on to other tasks.

Champion’s compact and efficient design includes convenient handle controls and an easy-adjust depth gauge which runs behind the tiller, allowing you work at a consistent depth and providing additional balance in different working conditions.

The 8-inch storable transport wheels allow you to transport your tiller across driveways and sidewalks with ease, plus they increase balance and maneuverability in loose soil. Getting to the garden and then taming it has never been easier.

Our front tine tiller is perfect for turning soil, mixing in compost, loosening soil to help water reach plant roots or weeding between rows. Its easy maneuverability, efficiency, and deep digging capabilities along with its compact design will have you wondering how you ever planted a garden without it.

Designed with a low oil shut-off sensor, this unit holds 0.8 gallons of gasoline and has a 0.5-quart oil capacity (recommended 10W-30).

This tiller is EPA certified and CARB compliant. Buy with confidence - Champion Support and our nationwide network of service centers will back your purchase up with a 2-year limited warranty and FREE lifetime technical support.

How to Choose

Standard Rotating Tines (SRT)

Standard rotating tine tillers see the tines rotate forward "pulling" the tiller forward. This feature can be used with or without self-propelled wheels.

Dual Rotating Tines (DRT)

Dual rotating tine tillers very widely depending upon the specific type of tiller being discussed, the Champion DRT tiller see the tines rotate forward under standard operation but can also rotate in reverse for short periods of non-tilling activity (e.g. moving the tiller out of a difficult location).

Counter Rotating Tines (CRT)

Counter rotating tine tillers see the tines rotate "counter" or opposite the direction the self-propelled wheels are turning. If the wheels are moving forward the tines are rotating backward, if the wheels are moving backward the tines are rotating forward.

Purchased this splitter for the wood I had from hurricane Ida. I had several logs in excess of thirty inches in diameter that I thought would be too much for this splitter. I'm happy to say I was wrong. The engine bogged down as expected but the splitter powered through. I had several large diameter logs with large knots and limbs and this splitter preformed better than expected. I contemplated a bigger splitter but the 27 ton of splitting force has been plenty. It's powerful and well built with heavy duty components. I recommend looking over the assembly as mine had several loose items.

At the price new for a 27ton splitter, you get your money's worth! Easy to put together and starts right up. Splits hardwood logs with ease! And the vertical feature makes getting those heavy logs done quick too without breaking your back. I highly recommend if you are a DIY type of person. It will pay for itself in a couple years.

So far this has been a sold log splitter, I have had it for only a week and will follow up after a few more uses. It comes well packaged, and instruction are easy to follow for set-up I ran it for 2 hours so far and will go easy with it until the break in time is completed ( 5 hrs ) but so far it has handled oak, walnut and hickory logs without any issues. I did custom make an extension table for the work side as I was worried about a log falling on the oil filter or the pump. NOTE to Champion maybe you can make this extension table as part of the log splitter or at lease a attachment opinion that can be purchased. It starts up with little effort and run smooth. Overall, extremely pleased with purchase.

I run a full time firewood business. I bought this splitter back in September to supplement another splitter I have. My wife named her Stella Jane (she names all of my equipment). This splitter surpassed all expectations and handled every bit of the splitting for my 2021 Fall/Winter season, and is now powering thru my Spring new cut season. Ya'll we split ALOT of wood. Stella Jane is the queen. Marry that girl!

I needed a splitter that is easy to maneuver around around my ranch, but could split even the largest of tree rounds. This week we lost 5 old growth trees to a wind and ice storm. I was worried that a 27 ton was large enough. But the Champion proved to be plenty of power. The largest rounds were 43" across. I flipped the deck to vertical split as they were too heavy to lift. Probably over 300 lbs. The mighty 27 cracked them right open. Great job.
